Spring Break Cruise – Part 4 of 7

Spring Break Cruise – Part 4 of 7

Tuesday, March 24

Sailing right along… to Grand Turk, part of the Turks and Caicos islands.  At this port, we had planned to leave TG to embark on a painting excursion with my dad, but he had to bow out due to back problems. Hubs went along instead, and I enjoyed a leisurely morning on board after accidentally working out.

How does one accidentally work out? That is a logical question, so allow me to elaborate. I had gone up to the fitness center to work on some PT exercises (I’m dealing with some ulnar nerve/related tissue problems). I figured that since I was there, I might as well do a mini-WOD. A nice 21-15-9 couplet of calories on the C2 row erg & v-ups, followed by another 21-15-9 couplet of lat pull downs & air squats. And that was my one and only trip to the fitness center this cruise.

Working out with a view like this? Yes please.

Later that morning, Mom and I attended the daily EFFY raffle, and this time SHE won! She never wins these things, so it made her day. So what if it was the same prize I won? It made her so happy!

Hubs and TG returned with their paintings and we all had some lunch.

Bellies full, the three of us went back out – to the Margaritaville resort, where we had some pool time. It was a PAR-TAY! I had two frozen margs, danced in the pool, then fell asleep on our reserved clamshell bed for a bit. It’s not easy to party like a 22-year-old when you’re 54!

While Hubs did some schmoozing in the pool, TG and I both snoozed on the clamshell bed until it was time to get back to the ship. Fun tidbit: though they call Margaritaville a resort, it caters exclusively to cruise ship passengers. I appreciated that as it keeps the numbers down for a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Back on board, I stopped to admire some of the amazing artwork that adorned the ship’s stairwells (I took the stairs whenever I could).

Step count for the day: 17,023
