Day 3 was a very relaxed sea day and our family photo shoot by the amazing Ning from Thailand. We booked the shoot for my mom’s <mumble>th birthday gift.
It was such a fun time for all of us, including me, since I’m usually the one behind the lens. Not only did Ning do fabulous job, but she and I enjoyed chatting about photography and our cats. If anyone from Bangkok reads this and is looking for a photographer, please find Ning (@ningz_choco on Instagram)!
Later, I met up with Hubs and TG at one of the many art auctions on board. TG won big time: they correctly guessed the weight of a statue and a paddle number drawing (those prizes were a print per prize of their choosing) plus they won a pack of 8×10 prints. Not a bad haul!
While TG went to dinner at Canaletto with my parents, Hubs and I had a date night at Rudi’s Sel de Mer. I have to say, the food on this ship was very hit or miss – and the misses were quite disappointing. We enjoyed our escargot appetizer and flaky pastry dessert (plus the pre-dessert they brought us), but my lobster tail was quite a disappointment. Instead of the delectable sweet taste of the meat I’d been anticipating, the flavor resembled Brie. Don’t get me wrong – I love Brie – but I was really looking forward to the sweet flavor of lobster meat. Mais, c’est la vie.
When we returned to our cabin, we had a nice little surprise on the bed, and gorgeous view of the night sky from our verandah.
