A Bisel Dis... A Bisel Dat

Prisoner – August 3, 2015

Margo – Gilmore Girls! Have you never seen it? It’s my favorite show on the planet!

Kay – I can just hear your voice as I read your words, “Well, hell!” 🙂

So, here we are again. Incinerated due to a feverish penis, forced to sleep in the live bed. I will say that at least this bed isn’t quite as psychotic as the previous one. Anyway, I currently have the entire hospital (only a slight exaggeration) trying to hunt down the special dressing I have to use to cover my port. Have I talked about that before? It’s called Aquacell Foam. Every other adhesive dressing causes me major itchy rashness, which is not only uncomfortable, but can become an infection risk. They have it down at Kellogg (the cancer center) for me, but no one in the main hospital can seem to track it down for their own supply. Ah, I just like to keep them on their toes.

Debbie (oncology nurse) actually sent one of the dressings up with Alla this morning. She stopped in with a resident. Of course, I’m feeling fine now. Just annoyed that I’m stuck in here. We’re hoping that my white count will be up enough to release me by Wednesday. Alla and I agree that we want to keep ID (Infectious Disease) out of the equation because, as she put it, they weren’t very helpful last time. They were the ones who made me stay longer to wait for my blood cultures to grow something (which they never did).

So, thus far, I’ve had a lovely breakfast of French toast, fruit, and Stewart’s coffee. Tastes like childhood. Remember back in the day, on holidays, when the big percolator would come out and all the grownups would have coffee after dinner? Why in the world they let me drink it, I’ll never know. Maybe it was all a plan so I could feel nostalgic today.

And now, I shall return to my regularly scheduled programming – my GG marathon.
