A Bisel Dis... A Bisel Dat

Better Today April – 22, 2015

I stayed on top of that pain yesterday with Tylenol when I’d feel even a twinge. I took one 500mg Tylenol before bed, slept great, and woke up without any of those pesky aches. Hopefully, that hurdle is done. Still having a bit of IBS issues, but that’s easing up too.

I realized that I haven’t had any of the night sweats or chemo hot flashes yet. I asked the nurse practitioner yesterday if that meant I wouldn’t get them. She thinks that’s entirely possible. How amazing would that be?!

And now, for some funny. Yesterday, Adam asked Meredith to take his shoes upstairs to our room (because that’s why people have kids – to do stuff like that when we feel lazy). When she got up there, she let out a shriek. When we asked her what was wrong, she said, “There’s something big and hairy and scary in there!” I knew what it was right away and started laughing. “Mere, it’s my wig!” Then she started laughing. Adam had decided that since we’d inherited my grandparents old bedroom set, my wig needed to be sitting out on a wig stand, like my Poppy had his toupée. The wig stand came in the mail yesterday, so I put it on our headboard.

A couple of notes. In full disclosure, I didn’t have to find a specific locker at the gym – I bring my own lock and just grab an empty one. Also, for those of you who might be worried if I don’t post for several days, it’s only because there’s nothing cancer-related to talk about. And that’s a good thing. Like Holly noticed, I’m still Facebooking. And I’m still posting photos on Flickr. If you weren’t already aware, I’m a Project 365er. Project 365 involves taking a photo a day for a year. This is my 5th year doing this. Sometimes, I fall behind in posting, but I usually catch up within a week. If you like, you can see all that I post (P365 and more) at www.flickr.com/photos/lildebweb/.

Deb, speaking of Poppy and his toupee….do you know the story of him flinging it at someone across the room  at a diner party???? DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME!!!!  You sound so upbeat. Inspiring.
