A Bisel Dis... A Bisel Dat

Accessorize! – May 3, 2015

On Friday, I received a fun package in the mail from my friend Shelley, who sent me two awesome “Cabbage Patch Kids” hats (one in green and one in blue). I wore the green one to the bus stop to meet Mere after school. She thought it was awesome (her word) – so much so that she’s appropriated the blue one for herself.

This past week, I’ve noticed that my vision is not quite what it was. It started with it taking more time to refocus from far to near. By week’s end, I found that whereas once my reading glasses simply made things a little easier, they are now a necessity. Ah, yet another lovely side effect from the chemo. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t get worse than this, because it’s fun to buy readers in different styles, but prescription glasses would be much more costly.

That is the cutest hat EVER. If you are ever dazed and confused in your chemo state and you are lost, anyone who finds you wandering aimlessly will know to return you to the cabbage patch! Brilliant! Speaking of eyesight……Jeff was in a meeting last week with a couple of fellow board members. He mentioned that he was going to have his colonoscopy on Wednesday. A colleague emailed him and said, “I hope everything went well, and that you can read this email more clearly now…” Jeff replied, “I didn’t know a colonoscopy could improve my vision…” The guy got Jeff confused with another board member who was having lasik surgery the same day. We laughed. Both went well. The other guy can see and Jeff can……well, you know the drill!
