A Bisel Dis... A Bisel Dat

Things of Note – May 12, 2015

So, while I was not sleeping, I had the joy of trying to understand my hospital bed. It’s some sort of responsive air mattress. Every time I moved, it would deflate, then reinflate. I suppose it was attempting to provide proper support for my body alignment, and maybe do something to prevent bed sores? But, now, as I sit on a chair across the room, I hear it “breathing” and wonder am quite concerned that it possesses a mind of its own. Or perhaps it’s just possessed?

Breakfast was a very lonely looking omelette, though I did get some fruit on the side to try and cheer it up. Sorry about the photo quality. The lighting is not good, and I’m limited to my iPad/iPhone cameras today. Yeah, like you’re going to judge me now?

Poor, sad, omlette.
Poor, sad, omlette.

If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and read my cousin Margo’s comment on the previous post. Just make sure you’re not drinking anything when you do. Meanwhile, I’ll be here, awaiting the jumbo wrap to cover my port while I shower. Oh, the excitement of a day in hospital.

Comments from the Original CaringBridge Blog:

I hate the hospital bed. I didn’t know what was going on at first.

You still have rock star status! You know in all my years of nursing dealing with pediatric and adolescent aged oncology patients, I am amazed none of them ever came up with “neutropenis”?! Lol…love it! Humor and strength will sail you right through all of this.

Hysterical! Your cousin’s post was the best! –We have to laugh— Mother’s Day I told James I was having my reconstruction on his birthday, in June. The nipple reconstruction is done a month later, if you want one. It’s complicated, and since I don’t go to many nude beaches, I’m skipping that. I asked James if he wanted to be a nipple donor I’d be grateful for it — he just covered his ears. But it was fun!

Hope you get to go home soon!! Definitely use that saved copay to order in better food:-)

One needs not to confuse the attributes of your hospital bed and those of the “nutritious penis” that you are dealing with:-). With the $40 co-pay you saved maybe you can order dinner in! Love your good cheer! Thanks for sharing!

I am thinking of penises–no, of you, of you! I hope you are well enough to go home very, very soon.
