A Bisel Dis... A Bisel Dat

I Remain in Custody – May 12, 2015

So this is interesting. Well, maybe not so much. But I just got a wrong number, non-English speaking call to the phone in my hospital room. People, it’s the little things. Oh, and really exciting is that I got to shower. Well, sort of. It’s not like I could stand under a luxurious flow of water… only a handheld shower head in this establishment. So it was sort of like a sponge bath with a power rinse. Better than not. For everyone in a 10 foot radius.

I saw my oncologist. My counts are still going down, so I’m stuck here at least another night. Even if the cultures come back negative, she said that sometimes there can be an infection that just doesn’t show up, so out of an abundance of caution, we treat with the big guns antibiotics (Fortaz).

I was hospitalized for a few days with neutropenic fever. Here's an excerpt from my blog: I saw my oncologist. My counts are still going down, so I'm stuck here at least another night. Even if the cultures come back negative, she said that sometimes there can be an infection that just doesn't show up, so out of an abundance of caution, we treat with the big guns antibiotics (Fortiz). It's unfortunate that in order to kill the cancer cells, we also have to kill my immune system. But, that's the nature of the beast. For more, visit http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/debmoran

It’s unfortunate that in order to kill the cancer cells, we also have to kill my immune system. But, that’s the nature of the beast. In culinary news, at least lunch was better than breakfast. A halfway decent grilled cheese, more fruit, and chocolate pudding (because, why the hell not?). Since Hubs will be stopping by tonight with a bag of stuff, (clean undies would be nice) I’m going to find out if I’m allowed outside food. Maybe Chinese?

Maybe I’ll post again later today. If I don’t. Fear not. It’ll be likely that I actually might have fallen asleep.

*Note – I actually did get charged the copay for the office visit!
